I guess I meant if one had to return a bass to look as if it was never modified, having the skills to match what it looked like from the factory.
Enough to fool the inspector.

If you're keeping the bass, then just knowing how to solder better is always a good thing.
(FWIW, I haven't owned a bass with a warranty since... ever? So I do whatever I want inside these controls :laugh:)

I think the overwhelming majority of basses have the blend wired so clockwise favors neck. Sadowsky's are a notable exception. But reality is, it's really easy to switch it if you have a little bit of soldering skill.
