UPDATE-This will work even if your bass does not have a battery compartment. If you don’t have a battery compartment, I’ll include a 12 volt compact alkaline battery and holder that will fit inside the control cavity under the preamp and power it up just fine for approximately 55 hours of play time. This is a perfect solution when you want to add the flexibility of an active preamp (with a 3 band EQ and a vintage tone control) to a bass without a battery compartment-and NO SOLDERING REQUIRED! No battery life worries, either. This preamp has an active passive switch which will still give you volume, balance and vintage tone control operation even with a dead battery.
