It is currently inoperative. Sad, because it is in really nice cosmetic shape. After posting a question on here- I was given some recommendations. I sent this off to Fuchs Audio, who were extremely helpful with the shipping, the reasonable cost to evaluate and return it to me. I highly recommend them! According to them, there are no parts available. Well, I don't know this for sure- but there's likely some mad genius out there that could take this project on, and get it working. As you all know, these are highly prized amps that can bring some high prices.
It's in the box they shipped it back to me in, and buyer pays shipping. I just want to recoup some of my investment.

Walter used some (then new) FET's in the output (that he took the numbers off of), which are NLA. The biggest challenge is chips and transistors/FET's with numbers sanded off. We've even take apart working units (no picnic because the traces on the boards are like human hair thin), to measure and reinstall the parts. One tech we've worked with has logged over a hundred hours reverse engineering, only to STILL not be able to get amps fixed. We had 6 amps on hand at one time. There are many variations in different models and sometimes even in the "same model" as he refined his designs. Not to say they are all prototypes, but they were works in progress.

We gave up investing time in that fruitless journey. I tried to get Walter to consider selling the IP and brand, but he ignored a friendly letter and an offer to grab coffee and talk about it a few times.

I had the same experience with Polytone. I asked about buying the brand and IP, and was told they planned to keep going. This despite their brand trademark being compromised and the company is now two part-timers. Talk about "going down with the ship"....sigh

As far as I know there haven’t only been a few been two way conversations with Walter in the past 10 years.
