It's been over a year since my last post/update. Been watching a few good builds on YouTube. The ES335 build by "Adventures From the Shed" channel is awesome. Inspired to restart my build. Hoping to pick back up in the Fall. Stay tuned

Me too, but unfortunately will be a long slow slog. Hope to get back into it this Summer.

It's been many months. With help of a great craftsman, got these done for the headstock. Looking forward to slowly getting and continuing this project

Moving along. Trying hard to be courageous and not second guess and doubt myself. First time working with acrylic. Makes a big mess at the bandsaw. Got the headstock template cut, shaped, finished, and drilled (to secure to neck blank headstock). Next up: sending the FB and headstock...

Designed the headstock shape today. This is a key step I wanted to tackle before moving on w other areas. Getting this step nailed down will allow me to cut the headstock shape, the headstock veneer, then move on tho cutting neck+headstock thickness.

Lots of router-ing today. Neck tapered. Where the neck and the wings was left as is, not router'd --- until I figure out the headstock shape/design. The foto doesn't really show the taper too well but it is there. 43 mm @ nut to 63 mm at 21st fret.

Planning a bit ahead, and thinking about inlays. Certainly would be way less difficult to do the inlays on headstock and on FB before gluing them to neck. Wondering if there are builders here experienced w doing inlays who have capacity to take a for hire job? EDIT / FOLLOW-UP: I've found...

Wondering how thick the headstock should be. Based on this Schaller spec drawings here, looks like 13.5 mm (0.53") for fully closed/threaded. I'm thinking final headstock thickness of about 5/8" (15.875 mm), including the veneer plate on top. This gives ~ the post about 0.1" of thread...
