My Jazz has a curly ash body. There is a real light flame to it, but it is difficult to capture with a camera. Not a major amount of figuring, just different than your usual swamp ash. I like it. :-)

So does a Heartfield DR-4 get in the ballpark? Everyone seems to say it is a poor man's Wal because of the filter based electronics, but I've yet to hear or play one. I've seen plenty of them in the TB classifieds for under $1000. What's the verdict?

I don't know what kind of used deals are in your area, but I picked up a very lightly used Line 6 LD150 in the spring of this year for $200. Great practice amp with a ton of features. 150W with a 12" speaker in a decent sized enclosure so it has more oomph than you might think for a 12" cab.

I've still got 2 cans of DHG paint waiting for a project like this down the road. I used to own #2739. Watching intently to see how the paint works out for you. :)
