Big Rigs, Small Cars, Tight Spaces!

Acoustic 301 folded 18", 450 head, Hellcat shortscale six string, Suzuki Vitara. With someone (me) riding (uncomfortably) Shotgun. For my next trick, I'll fit my Orange halfstack on top for biamping, and have to breathe shallowly all the way to the gig. \m/

    All Tube Chorus pedal hunt...

Wow, I'm gone for a week and suddenly there's a thread! MysticBoo, as far as bassist sounds go, Paul Raven's sound from the early Killing Joke records is, to me, what the bass is supposed to sound like (not that I don't adore Youth's work on the earlier material). I'm totally willing to grab...

    acoustic 301 cab ?'s

Just picked up a 301, matching head with mine is a 450, supposedly that's how it's been all these years. And it's *perfect*, in just about every way. Only thing I could ask for right now is another one. :bassist:

    All Tube Chorus pedal hunt...

Recently I've been expanding my rig for a doom/drone project (yeah, I know) and I've got the amps perfect now. Everything's coming together... except I'm needing a chorus pedal that won't throttle my tone, and the solid state choruses I'd owned/used/demo'd have all left me wanting for low-end...

If you guys could spec your own preamp, what would you want?

A full head unit, a la Sunn Orion (basically a box full of tubes - the last piece of gear I'm GAS-ing for, please PM if you have one!), with tube voltage control (ala Ampeg 6) sweepable via footpedal. Flat EQ response, with between two and four balanced outs, each with their own volume/gain...

To heck with this tube stuff. SS power amp recommendations?

If you haven't bought that by now, you're a silly, silly man.

    acoustic 301 cab ?'s

I *finally* got my hands on a 301 with a matching 450 head. The cabinet is worth the work, I assure you! :bassist:

    Band with your band's name

There are currently eight bands playing live, right now, named Pavement. One has been an indie rock staple for two decades. One is a NY hardcore band, and several others are ill-informed high schoolers, I'd wager. If Stephen Malkmus went around wanking at every band named Pavement, I'd have to...

How close are you to your band?

Band I'm looking to join is two hours away. I'll probably end up staying a night a week up there, practicing and drinking, and maybe miss a gig or two here and there when they're 3+ hours away. BUT, they're amazing guys, and to me that's worth it over playing with ******** down the street.

    New Orange cabs!

I'm currently thinking Bass Terror 1000 -> Smart Power 410.

to those who need more power than an SVT-CL [Doom]

So much to say here! Jucifer is my co-pilot. Those folks are the nicest, raddest band I've seen as of late, and I never miss a chance to catch them. As someone in the doom genre who was (very politely!) recently schooled by Bill Fitzmaurice and a few others, the choice of cabs and your...

    B2RE Opinions

That's a great price for a great sounding head. Gonna have to see if I can find one for that much myself... :ninja:

    Orange Amplifiers

That's eeeeerily similar to what I hope to have one'a'these here days. Got any samples of the Big Muff tone? I'd love to hear it.

Orange Amps is showing a 1000 Watt Bass Terror (mini head) at Music Messe 2009

She shall be mine. OH YES. :hyper: Edit: Anyone have the slightest clue as to cost?
