Just picked up a 301, matching head with mine is a 450, supposedly that's how it's been all these years. And it's *perfect*, in just about every way. Only thing I could ask for right now is another one. :bassist:

Recently I've been expanding my rig for a doom/drone project (yeah, I know) and I've got the amps perfect now. Everything's coming together... except I'm needing a chorus pedal that won't throttle my tone, and the solid state choruses I'd owned/used/demo'd have all left me wanting for low-end...

A full head unit, a la Sunn Orion (basically a box full of tubes - the last piece of gear I'm GAS-ing for, please PM if you have one!), with tube voltage control (ala Ampeg 6) sweepable via footpedal. Flat EQ response, with between two and four balanced outs, each with their own volume/gain...

There are currently eight bands playing live, right now, named Pavement. One has been an indie rock staple for two decades. One is a NY hardcore band, and several others are ill-informed high schoolers, I'd wager. If Stephen Malkmus went around wanking at every band named Pavement, I'd have to...

Band I'm looking to join is two hours away. I'll probably end up staying a night a week up there, practicing and drinking, and maybe miss a gig or two here and there when they're 3+ hours away. BUT, they're amazing guys, and to me that's worth it over playing with ******** down the street.
