    Copper Tape in Toronto??

Thanks folks, will check those too. (While trying to avoid Steve's Music. Long story...) I've heard that the adhesive on slug tape isn't conductive. Can anyone test some?

    Copper Tape in Toronto??

I've been needing to pop by there for a few things anyway. Will check when I do and let you know.

    Copper Tape in Toronto??

Hmmm. Not really practical to do that, as I'll be lining pickup and electronics cavities with it, probably with lots of little pieces. Also I don't want lumps of solder under the pickguard. This is why I want conductive adhesive. Are you sure the adhesive loses conductivity when it dries?

    Copper Tape in Toronto??

http://www.long-mcquade.com/products/17253/ Oh nice. (Though a little pricey.) Any confirmation as to whether it has conductive adhesive?

    Copper Tape in Toronto??

And you seem to be obsessed with doing a half-assed job. It's a nice guitar. I'm going to do a job that's worthy of it. And I don't NEED to do "smart layout" (whatever that is). With conductive adhesive copper tape it will "just work". What are you, from the Aluminum Marketing Board or something?

    Copper Tape in Toronto??

Maybe you've had success with foil, but I'd still rather do it right. And sorry, but continuity is NOT continuity. Contact that isn't solid will contribute to intermittencies that will actually create crackle noises as pieces of the shield come on and off of ground. I want to do this once, as...

    Copper Tape in Toronto??

Of course you do. It's only shielding if it's grounded. You need to make sure every piece of shielding is electrically continuous to ground. If there are any intermittencies, they will just become noise MAKERS as bits of shield turn "on" and "off" with movement of the instrument and...

    Copper Tape in Toronto??

I'd rather just spend a bit more and do it right. If the aluminum tape becomes discontinuous I can't complain. I like to reserve my right to complain. :smug: So, do I have to order it from Stew Mac? It seems an item just like any other from 3M's catalog but all the local stores I search don't...

So the shielding is electrically continuous.

    Copper Tape in Toronto??

I'm looking for a good Toronto area source of copper shielding tape with conductive adhesive as well. Did anyone find any?

Congrats! By the way, the #2 and #4 switch positions hum cancel, as the middle pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity. (I'm thinking of moving the middle to the bridge, so then the bridge/neck and bridge/mid positions will hum cancel. Neck/middle is probably my least used position so I can...
