    Steve Harris Precision Bass Club

I don't know how I missed this Steve Harris PB Club! I bought the Olympic White about a year and a half ago and I absolutely love it. I have a Fender MIM PB (fretless) along with a Fender MIM JB (Fretless). The Steve Harris Signature in Olympic White is my first fretted bass. There was a...

    Zoom b1 four patch ideas

So true, my brother! LoL! Curious, what do you have your 160 comp threshold at? I updated tonelib and guitar lab and hooked my b1x4 to my laptop. I was a bit surprised to see my threshold at - 30. Mind you that once I set it 2 years ago, I was and am extremely happy with the sound. I put my...

    Zoom b1 four patch ideas

I would really love to hear what you think. For comps, I just use a little bit, a little goes a long way, especially when using 2 of them in your effects chain. I usually have my compression on the 160 comp at a ratio of 4.1 and if I want a bit more squeeze, Ill go with 6.1 For my purposes...

    Zoom b1 four patch ideas

I agree 100% with you on this. when I use 2 different compressors at 2 different locations in my chain, I hardly need much of it at all. With my SD Studio Compressor at the start of my chain, I just need a little bit to fatten the sound, while the 160 comp before my noise gate, I apply just...

    Zoom b1 four patch ideas

ToneLib is soooo much better than the Zoom Guitar Lab. You can do so much more than Guitar Lab as far as Renaming patches, Dialing in settings in real time, Saving settings and backing up with a much easier & user friendly interface. The screen is larger and I am able to get another effect in...

Another flatwound thread: Dunlop flats or Rotosound 77's

I respect that. I like medium to heavy gauge strings. nothing above 110, I have really no use for such a thick gauge string, I know others do, but not for me.

Another flatwound thread: Dunlop flats or Rotosound 77's

I use the Rotosound SH77. They are extremely bright compared to a few other brands that I have used in the past. They are not cheap in price, I do admit that after a few months, the brightness goes away rapidly. BUT.... I have been wiping down my strings after each session lately with the...

Maple body basses - why there's not that many?

For me it's all about the sound. I compensate by using a wider strap but the weight can be a bit of an issue after a while. I'll put on one of my other Pbass or jbass and it feels light as a feather.

Maple body basses - why there's not that many?

I guess I did have an uploaded photo of my Fender Steve Harris Signature precision bass. 13 lbs of maple. I absolutely love the sound of this bass over my other Fender Pbass's & Jbass

Maple body basses - why there's not that many?

I love the sound of Maple. I bought the Fender Precision Steve Harris signature bass. It lists as 12 pounds 15 ounces. I just say it feel like 13+ pounds. Its a beast of a bass but the sustain, mids and highs are just fantastic. The bottom end really growls when you dig in. The salesman...

Zoom B1 Four - better sounding than Zoom B1on?

Agreed with you, only exception is no expression pedal for B1X and B3n. For the B3n, you can add an expression pedal if you want to. B1x doesn't, as far as I know, you cannot attach one. The B1X Four is the one that has the expression pedal, I have that one. It was a few bucks more but worth it...

Zoom B1 Four - better sounding than Zoom B1on?

I was very tempted to buy the B3n due to the more usable stomp buttons and scrolling options and extra slot to add an additional effect to your your effects chain. It seems to be more user friendly with the ability to turn off effects on your chain without have to scroll through. The B3n seems...

    Steve Harris signature bass weight

I have to change my Pup's on my Jazz, I'm just not too big of a fan of its sound. I love fender P bass. Especially with the jumbo frets. I used to have a hard time since I have small hands but I really have become used to it. Playing my fretless jbass, I like the smaller neck but I find that I'm...

    Steve Harris signature bass weight

Too bad, I really dig mine from the first time I played it. The funny part is that I always have used rotosound flatwound strings, and flatwound for that matter. I was using the Rotosound Jazz for a while before the SH77 came out. I absolutely love rotosound strings. For a flatwound, it's very...

    Steve Harris signature bass weight

Hmm, interesting. I may have misunderstood part of your post but OTOH as ash & alder seem to have somewhat similar tone. But when I am playing back to back basses with exact equipment but different body material, the difference is noticeable. I'm Having to adjust EQ, compression settings ect...
