I had the same query a few months ago Fake MIJ Fender? Best as I can ascertain these are Tokai build Fenders and the numders are jsut some form of productin number - not dates. Out of interest, is yours a MIJ written in cursive on the decal?

For comparison These are from a N series MIJ Jazz. The 33 on my pick up cavity stamp seems to argue against being date stamps, but the 5 on both of them corresponds with the Heisei Calender year 5 being 1993 when N series were in production.

Have a look in the pup cavity and see if a similar number stamp is there, I.e. 2 digits seperated by a hyphen in black. I have been researching this from a different angle and suspect that these are the stamp formats used by Tokai Gakki. No idea what they mean though

Very Nice bass!! I have a white MIJ P Bass as well, but a G series. Looking VERY familiar! As an afterthought I have emailed Fujigen to see what they say. Pleasantly distracting theory at least :-)
