I use picks for ecrtain licks or songs only when the picked sound adds extra. 99% I am fingering. Note: I am primarily a lead guitarist and a hobbyist basser, but love the rounding low notes from my basses.

OMG, you sound like a peofessional luthier. This amount of fix would worth for a rarity or CS Fender, but for a Squire - one must enjoy the challenge. Actually I would also try just like you do it, though I have less skills, surely. I hope you will fix it and also follow this with high interest...

My AFR is currently out from the case and de-tuned to avoid further banana effect. Will tune up it now to check the neck condition.

Thanks, I asked about the thickness so the 21.0 mm @ 12th fret is one of them. Can you also measure the thickness @ 1st fret? And the width you measured is also great and useful information to compare the options I am currently looking at.
