Thanks guys. I was not asking to buy that bass, I just wanted to know who that was and what bass he was using. It really sounded great for the show, it nailed all the past, present, and future sounds. Of course I don't know what pedals,etc...but the bass had a serious tone to boot. Check this...

Nice review. Thanks. When it comes to Yamaha Basses do there High End Basses compete with the big names? From what I have seen, read, and researched there lower end basses don't get much love at all, compared to other lower end Yamaha instruments.

I talked to a friend in Japan. The BB424x is not discontinued. Yamaha will be coming out with a new TRB-X series very soon. We know what X means, not made in Japan. These still should be nice, same Japan series John Patitucci uses. It will not replace the BBx series though.

I want to purchase a home practice amp but I do not want a combo. I like the Fender Rumble 150 Head idea but what cabinet would be good for home practice. I do not want a combo amp, I like the idea of just practicing with the head alone, and then I can use the cabinet when I want to...

A friend of mine told me that Yamaha has discontinued the BB424x, and they will have some new basses coming out in a few months or early next year. Anybody heard anything?

Hello, That was like clearing my throat, I can breath better now after listening to all the great advice. So I will look at used basses, check out the cube, (yeah, the V drums, got me), nothing against electronics though for some stuff. Thanks for the lesson on the passive sound, it did not...

How good is the used gear from Guitar Center, I know they have a rating system is that pretty accurate? I will also look at the classifed on this site too, thanks.
