Yes there is some relief. A little less than recommended from Gibson but surely enough to let the string swing freely. I will try to loosen it a bit. Do you think that there are alternatives to installing a new nut?

They have but I believe they are non export models. Also they have a JJ pickup configuration.

The jack is the thing I look last for (if I look at all) in a bass. IMO either jack is fine

Maybe even some gold hardware like tuners and the bridge :D

Isn't it possible to just scree the screws back in? To be honest I've thought about putting gold screws in :bassist:

So without the pickguard it looks more or less just like the aerodyne jazz bass that comes without a pickguard doesn't it?
