    Hofner-(not just Beatle Basses)-Group Part 2

What do people think of the new Violin Bass '59 model? Hofner site says it's 59 specs blended with early 60s specs. Has two toaster pickups. I'm thinking of getting one, but see no discussion of this model.

    SOLD Serek Fretless Midwestern 2 (32” - 4 String)

I assume the shim makes the action higher. Is it removable if I want it lower?

    Birdsong Club Pt 2

Congrats on a great bass. I made 2 bids on that one on Reverb and am kicking myself for not just buying it at the asking price.

Canadian shipping and duties were also my concern. Otherwise I would have jumped on that. I don't know anything about ordering from Canada to the US -- never done it before but couldn't get clear answers by googling. Looks like a fantastic bass!

I'm the one who bought Eric's bass, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it very much!

    Eastwood Pocket Bass-Intonation Adjustable?

I want to adjust the intonation on my Eastwood Pocket Bass but the bridge is fixed to the body (it does not appear to be a floating bridge). It appears to be glued, but perhaps it's just stuck in place. Is the bridge supposed to be floating on these? I see from other posts that the original...

    NBD - Yamaha Attitude III!

These are great basses. Although I generally prefer basses with skinny necks, I find these Attitude basses extremely playable and comfortable. And the quality of the neck construction is outstanding. Regardless of what gauge of string I put on this, the action stays consistent and low. Very...

    short scale bass

I recently bought the American Performer Mustang bass. The rosewood fretboard is a nice dark wood, the feel of the neck is great and the build quality is excellent. The build quality is just as good as my Music Man short scale Stingray, which cost substantially more. I also have an original...

    Alembic Club at Talk Bass

This is absolutely correct. To me, turning down a standard tone knob on a bass simply makes the sound muffled and loses the percussive nature of plucking the string (if you play with a pick). With the filter system, it really can change a round wound tone to something approaching an Old School...

The OFFICIAL "Gretsch Bass Owners Club"

Thanks for measuring it. That's exactly the size I was hoping it would be -- same as my G6073 Electrotone!

The OFFICIAL "Gretsch Bass Owners Club"

I have the G6073 sealed with painted F holes, made in Japan. I think that model was called the Electrotone. The bottom bout measures 15.5" and it's 2.25" deep. I also have the 6072 reissue and on that one the body is too wide for me to comfortably reach around it while seated, which makes...
