Very strange.. I haven’t bought a new spiro in years but once I got a string with a defect and Thomastik sent me a replacement right away. Could be worth emailing them to check?

Francois, is this similar to the windings of the strings you got? I looked them over before putting them on and didn’t notice anything wrong. It’s almost like the winding got bunched up and squeezed together when I tensioned the string.

Was replying to this. Definitely meant the tailpiece, not the peg box.

Can someone please confirm that the G string has a red wrap at the tailpiece? D has yellow? I bought a used D and G but the strings are so similar in diameter I can't tell which is bigger.
