Yes. We do not keep any inventory on the shelves with Innovation; it's all made to order. And we send shipments out to Mark on a regular basis.

I'll check on Thurs (when I'm in the office) about the silking. It was a more recent change that was done AFTER the Polychromes got the final approval for the specs.

Francois, is this similar to the windings of the strings you got? I looked them over before putting them on and didn’t notice anything wrong. It’s almost like the winding got bunched up and squeezed together when I tensioned the string.

It’s a shame the G will have to come off as it’s scraping the fingerboard pretty fierce. To be fair I bought these used so they could have been damaged without me noticing.

At any rate, after a few days on I think these are great strings. They blend with the Spirocore E and A better than the other synthetic guts I’ve tried (Evah, Obligato, Zyex). I think they sound and feel more like wound gut than those strings too, especially with the bow. I will probably order a full set.

Would you say the tension is tighter or looser than Obligatos?

Have you done anything to address the issue of fingerboard marking that so many players are describing? Maybe address the fit and finish of the outer wrap?

On my bass they feel looser that Obligatos, and much looser than Evahs.

I should add that Jon at GHS sent me a replacement G (which was very much appreciated!), and I’ve had no problems with scraping or scratching since. I haven’t changed anything since putting it on, the Poly/Spiro combo is great on my bass.

What Spiros are you using? E and A or just E? Weichs? 3885 or S42?

High Jon,
I’m playing a bassetto (a small bass tuned in fifths with a string length of 90cm). My highest string is an high e and right now I’m using a evah pirazzi high c tuned to e. It works but it’s slightly tight. Could you recommend me one of your high c’s that I could tune to high e? With slightly lower tension than the evah (around 30kg , I guess).

The prototype high C (“new braided”) that I broke and reknotted the third time now might work for you, but it seems that the receipt got lost during the transfer to GHS.
Maybe also one of the earlier high C Braided prototypes from Innovation UK.
These were the only synthetic core high Cs that I liked.
Your 90 cm high E must have a similar tension to my 110 cm high C.

I just ordered a braided high c from UK. Let’s see… The evah high c is great but it’s breaking under this tension.

Hi Kristian, I see you already purchased a Braided Orch High C.

I'm not sure any of our High C strings will do what you're asking. I'll have to take a look and see if I have any tension numbers on those couple of strings. And even then, that's just one facet of this thing.
