My bands demos! Let me know what you think.

This is really good. Not my favorite style, but its something I'd listen to while I'm busy working on something, kinda relaxing. Reminds me a little of Portishead.

Bass gear is insulting to me at times.

GK 700RB-II - $450 (new from musicians friend) Ampeg SVT 810 - $400 (used on ebay...had to drive to pick her up) I've been playing on this rig for over 5 years, never had a problem. Its also plenty loud enough for me. Later on I added a rack with tuner, compressor, BBE sonic maximizer and a...

User friendly for and quick set up

I use my home-built computer + M Audio Fast Track + a DI for the bass. If I'm recording with a mic I use an Art Tube preamp in front of the M-Audio. The M Audio is a little noisy.

Questions about multitrack interfaces and PC recording

Yep...you're right. I also read the reviews on the MOTU and they weren't so good. I also found this on amazon for a really good price...

Questions about multitrack interfaces and PC recording

Yes, this clears it all up. Thank you all for the info! And no I didn't get any interface yet (besides my trusty M Audio Fast Track). Would you recommend one? I'd need one 8 tracks or more. I've been looking at the MOTU 828mk3, it seems like a good one.

Questions about multitrack interfaces and PC recording

Ok I'm definitely missing something here. I still don't understand where the other end of the sync cable connects. I thought the FireStudio was the computer interface (hence the firewire). Is there some sort of PCI card (used to eliminate latency) that talks to the FireStudio interface?

Questions about multitrack interfaces and PC recording

8 tracks simultaneously would be fine. Id like to record a full drum kit, and then later on add in guitar/bass/vocals. I'm not opening a studio or anything, I just want to be able to record ideas with the band. (Invalid Link Removed) Let's look at the FireStudio for a second. My main...

    New strings for the studio?

some fret noise and "clunking" is good I think, as long as its in time. it just adds some percussive effects to your playing....more attack.

Questions about multitrack interfaces and PC recording

Ok I'm not a total noob in this area but up to now I've been recording only one track at a time. I use an M-Audio Fast Track USB interface and various preamps, depending on what I'm recording. But multi-track recording is something totally new to me. I know it takes more computer power and a...

    Computer People, chime in here.

One track at a time?! This is overkill! lol! Also, unless you're a gamer you can get by with a less expensive video card. "EVGA E-GEFORCE 9800GT 55NM 600MHZ 512MB $111.99 " - I got a card with the same chipset for $80. Also, I suspect Windows 7 is going to have some problems with drivers...
