To anyone out there who writes any form of music, why do you do it. personally I've struggled with depression all my life and I Write songs as a personal catharsis, certainly a lot cheaper than therapy.

I was thinking about getting a microphone and running it into my bass amp, while simultaneously my bass is run into the same amp, I was just wondering if this would sound clear enough to pick out both.
