I was thinking about getting a microphone and running it into my bass amp, while simultaneously my bass is run into the same amp, I was just wondering if this would sound clear enough to pick out both.

Mic and bass through one amp

Hi.
Perfectly doable IME.
For decent results though, You either need a few channel mixer in front of your amp, or the amp has to have pretty extensive EQ capabilities on at least one (MIC) channel.

+1 for using a small mixer to blend the two. The rest depends on the speaker system. Something fairly neutral without a really hyped up tone specifically for the bass could sound quite good.
Or you could do it the old way and just get a Bassman or something and plug everything in there.
