Double Bass books to give away

Moving onto a boat and have given away all my basses. These are texts accumulated over 33 years of studying and playing and I'd like to give them to good homes. All I ask is that you Paypal me the shipping cost after I send them. That would be the real shipping cost plus the price of the new...

Double Bass KATRINA BASSES: please help!

bump A friend of mine was working in New Orleans recently and he was shocked to see how bad things are there still and how forgotten a place it is. Made me sad to hear. If anyone still has reliable connections to make donations I'd be interested to have that info. Mich

Double Bass Ed Fuqua's new book Walking Bassics

In describing your methods you've always made it quite plain that no matter how hard you work there will always be a lot of work left to do; that the point of the work is not a goal in the future but resides in the moment. It's actually one of the great services you've done to anyone who's read...

    Carbon Fiber ABG???

Rainsong used to make a carbon fiber ABG but that's the only one I remember ever hearing about and they are long out of production. I'm seriously considering semi-retirement and moving onto a sailboat so I'm looking for a nice ABG. I am scared to death of warping a good wood instrument though...

Double Bass Ed Fuqua's new book Walking Bassics

http://www.shermusic.com/new/1883217504.shtml Based on what he's had to say here about playing lines and learning tunes I'd imaging a book like this from Ed Fuqua would be a valuable resource for the student or teacher. Congratulations on getting this published Ed. -MA

    Double Bass Keeping Time

To revisit what someone (Ed Fuqua I think) said much earlier is to relax. After several Alexander Technique lessons I became aware that I was throwing my mind out in front of my actual real time playing. In forcing my body to try and catch up to where my thoughts had raced I would speed up. That...
