    yes they have .., because that 81 fender pickups maybe are closer to late 70s than anything else in the market.. And if that is true, i will pull the guts out and shag the solderings. Thats the reason i am asking opinions from users...English is not my language ..maybe i have a little...

    .lighters ones weight less, . They are both 10.4 lbs. I think that early 80s grey bottom pickups have same tone with late 70s..These 2 jazzes are 3 bolts, block inlays with 1978 serial and early 80 pickups from transition era(78-82).. original frets, case etc, sο i leave them alone. I bought...

    Ernieball claims 41.3 nut width ..however i had 4 stingrays 1996 onwards...and all had 42-43 nut width

    Hi there. I just score a nice used 2013 american standard jazz. This era jazzes had the custom shop pickups installed from the factory. However i took them out and there is no custom shop sticker on the covers. Is that normal or someone had swap the pickup?

    in a gig, i feel lucky when i hear what i play... But wood matters, you cant eq everything.. i had a musicman bongo with the most powerfull eq , but the basswood body was there.. The heavy ash stingray i foolish sold, it was killer.But my back and neck had different opinion I had 3 lighter...

    Ok, its not a BIG difference, but its there, alder- rosewood has low mids and sits in the mix, ash-maple has more distinct tone, more high mids and tighter low end. Thats all i can hear anyway

    Maybe you sould try headphones ... I hear big difference...ash-maple has tight focused clear tone, alder- rosewood has WAY MORE low mids, i close my eyes and when the player change basses its so obvious They are 4 string jazz basses with the same pickups...dont expect to hear a jazz bass-p...
