What Headphones Do You Use When Playing (if any)

Not a big fan of Bose, but the QC15s seem to work quite well.

    Anyone actually use Rick-O-Sound?

I spent about a year in the '80s gigging 4001s using RoS. Neck pickup into a MM 150 and MM 2x12 and bridge pickup into a Fender Bassman 10. Sounded brilliant, but to be honest the forearm/no contour problem defeated me and I went back to 4000s.

    Warwick BC Combos

Just seen your thread. I guess you've probably bought your BC80 by now, but in case you haven't ... I bought one when they first came out. Easily the best small amp I've owned. Sounds great and goes loud. Small gigs should be fine ... unless you're playing with a drummer, of course. You might...

Do you take a spare bass to a gig.

I only ever took a second bass to "important" gigs. Kind of gigs where there was actually a "promoter" who could get us more/better gigs. I never actually needed one. I broke two strings in the 30 years I was gigging regularly. Both times the adrenalin rush was so exciting I still remember them...

    The 5+ Basses Owned Club

Sorry, is that five guitars or six? :) Sorry, I screwed up the quote. Meant for KCOLE4001. Supposed to be funny with a twin neck in the pic

What kind of strings do you use?

I admire you. I always thought I should like Tru Bass, and I tried them on and off for about 25 years on so many basses. Always hated them. A few months ago on a visit to London I very briefly tried a fretless semi with them and it sounded pretty fantastic. Whatever you do, don't unwrap them...

Which is the best bass you have ever played in your entire life?

I love lots of basses, including a couple that are no longer with me (a Fender and a Gibson, weirdly). But the best bass I've ever played (feel, playability, sound, looks) is the 4005 I bought at the start of 1978, and still have. It records beautifully, and at a gig it's the last thing you have...

    Show your White Basses!

Wow! They make fretless basses with that pattern on the fingerboard? Do you have any pics? They'd look wild.

    Favourite Headstock Design/Shape?

Really kinda works for me ...

Not sure what it is, but how cool would a fingerboard be looking like that? (Edit: And how much would it confuse fretless players?) :hiding:

I understand the problem. In that case, I'd say go for it. If you don't fall for it, and you can't get your money back, I reckon you could sell it locally for a tiny profit to someone not willing to take the risk. I would recommend buying the case with it. I got to play three when I bought...

    Show your White Basses!

Sounds right to me ;) Very well made. A brilliant price (here), and a very nice case (don't tell a Coronado or Starcaster owner). Came with decent roundwounds that sounded pretty good. Had some Chromes on it for the last week (I've had it about three weeks), and they sound fantastic. But...

My second, I think, white bass, currently my only one. I do like it, though. And "Sawatdi pi mai" to you all!

I want to donate a bass to a person in need.

    You're a nice man.

    The Rickenbacker Club Part Eleven

As long as your go-to bass is a Ric you know you're on the right track. As soon as the bastards give me the password to the executive thread - hey, I know it exists - I'll pass it on to you ;) SIG: Very Old Fart with at least two Rics with chequered binding. (It's nice, but it's not life or...
