Wobble's First Annual Classic Rock Cruise - Now Boarding!

A centered reply that was stuck as a quote, even though that's not what I wrote. Technology is the bain of the dreary, and the length of this thread be making me weary.

Should I send it back? Opinions, please!

So it plays nice, stays in tune, and sounds great. Are you sure you're not suffering from "Squier-itis"? This is when someone really likes their guitar at first, but then thinks about how much "better" it would be if it said, "Fender" on the head stock instead. It's amazing how many flaws people...

    NBD - Pre-CBS -OMG

Funny this bass started out playing through a Deluxe amp! I'm sure that amp blew a few Jensen 12s over the years trying to handle the low end.

Bass inspired name for a dog.

If the dog turns out to be useless, name it "tone knob".

Mesa D800 rattles off cabinet to oblivion

LOL. This was my same line of thought as I started reading through a few of the posts. Umm, that bass head keeps trying to be on the floor...so I think it's trying to tell you something. If you're in a situation where stuff starts falling up off the floor, that's when you have a whole heap of...

    Sam Ash: What Happened?

As others have said, pretty much all the "big name" guitar stores have had this problem. No inventory. Now the world sees what happens when China has to go on major lockdowns over the course of a year and a half. Do you still think anybody else really manufactures ANYTHING? Notice the tag now...

Ibanez Tone-Lok Pots - who makes pots like them?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread (I know it's the most horrible thing a person could ever do), but this thread is one of the first things to come up on Google when searching for "push lock potentiometers". Why start another thread to further muck up the web, when the information can be...

Wobble's First Annual Classic Rock Cruise - Now Boarding!

This is what happens when you drink too many draughts and forget about the more important one... Between the draught and the drink, thar be many a' sink. Aye!

What word in Classified ad makes you scroll right past it?

This one doesn't necessarily make me move on as much as it just irritates me. The fact somebody puts "lawsuit" in the listing title automatically means they are trying to inflate the price. The only true "lawsuit" guitars were mid-70's Ibanez guitars, and it had nothing to do with their...

leave clip-on tuner on while performing?

A clip-on tuner left on the headstock during a performance is the guitar equivalent of training wheels on a bike. It screams, "that person is still learning the basics".

Gene Simmons [still] Thinks Rock Is Dead

Back when rock music was dominant, I would liken music in general to a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner. It was loud, fast, and if something broke, you fixed it. Today, music is like a Toyota Prius. You rent it. It's "emotionally validated". And if it breaks, you throw it away.

    Guitar Center Chapter 11 Imminent

Chapter 11? I thought they were already on Chapter 18 or so.... Remember when Gibson filed chapter 11? It really doesn't mean anything these days. The thing I don't understand is how Fender has been saying they're selling so many guitars? Tons of the smaller guitar shops around where I live...

Should I trade an American standard p bass for a 1983 Squier p bass?

I'm pretty sure Fender was not making any instruments in Mexico in 1983 (1991 is around when that started). And besides the point, we're talking about a 1983 Squier bass that was Made in Japan. Nothing has been made by Fender in Fullerton, CA. since 1985, when CBS sold the company...that was...

Should I trade an American standard p bass for a 1983 Squier p bass?

Is there a picture of said '83 Squire P Bass that is being considered? That would clear up a ton of questions as to it's value. As brought out, depending on the condition, color, and if it's a "JV", it could easily be worth over $1,100. At that point, yes, that would be a good trade. If it's...

The Ultimate Eye Candy aka A Very Sad Day For Music History. "warning pic heavy"

I find it odd that all the guitars are locked up behind glass, yet they have some incredibly valuable and iconic amps just sitting out in the open! Think about the damage that has happened over the years. "What's this giant rip in the grille cloth?" :banghead:
