    I used to be 100% against picks, but now I have amazed myself.

    You can do that with fingers too. I can finger play just as fast as any guitar player can tremolo pick. But you are right, some things do sound much better and cooler with a pick. Good on you:)

    Metal can be so boring . . .

    Qup Vadis, dream theatre, mastodon, gojira, opeth. There are 5 metal bands, each ultra unique sounding and most have used effects.(quo vadis bass is fretless so it sounds pretty weird:)
