    I'm also interested in oak instruments. I know it's a pain to work with, but I've seen some gorgeous stuff made out of oak and pine which is another wood people get warned to stay away from. The bass in the photo is gorgeous, can't wait to see how yours turns out.

    You missed my point. Just because Jamerson used one finger on his right hand doesn't mean it's a good idea. It worked for him and that's great he's amazing. That doesn't mean playing with one finger should be advocated for over two.
