It's just a cheap Stagg bass so Its not going to be the end of the world if I ruin it. It's not like i'm doing it on a $1,000 Fender.

I just checked, The pickups are a 1/4" from the strings on both basses EDIT: if it helps my other bass is a Peavey Milestone 2

both basses are passive

Hey everybody, I have a Stagg BC300 and It just isn't loud enough for me. So my question is... Do I need to upgrade the pickups or the pots to get it louder? I know my amp isn't the problem because when I plug my other bass in it's loud as hell. Thanks,

Yeah, It will be fine to leave it until then.

The worst thing I played through was a 10W First Act amp( I was a cheap man at the time). Worst sound I ever heard come out of an amp.
