    Mark Bass 800 watt 410

I had the MarkBass MB58R 122 cab and it was super light and decent sounding They do a MB58R in 410 now so super light. They tend to handle power well and perform well

Barefaced Two10 vs Big Baby 3?

I had a BB3 cab and a Supertwin and they sounded similar as both had 12” speakers. Avoided the 10” cabs as they suffered from Tolex peel badly. I sold both of them and prefer the Genzler ULV212 cab ( they also offer a UL112 cab ) and it sounds warmer and nicer to my ears. Not rated as high in...

    Official Pick Bassists Club

I find if you want to hear the tonal difference that picks of different materials or gauges is to play the bass unplugged and listen. I discovered that I really liked the 0.73 yellow Tortex Dunlop picks compared to my heavier 1-1.5mm picks. The standard pick or the triangle shape both sounded...

    Genzler Kinetix 800 vs MG800

The MG800 and Kinetix have a different feel to their sound. Kinetix sounds valve like, but more like power amp valves not just pre amp valves. I’ve had other amps in the past that have a valve in the preamp ( Orange Terror, Ashdown ABM600 ) and the Kinetix is a huge improvement and actually...

    Official Orange Club II

This would sound better if cabs stacked on top not side by side. I know amp would overhang but two vertical speakers sound better than two side by side for various reasons

It’s a great compressor. Thry had some quality issues on some batches that had “ noise” issues on the compressed note tails but I think they cured that. Works really well

    Genzler Amplification Club

I’ve owned both the SVT212AV cab and the ABM600 ( I’m in the U.K. ) The cab was ok but not particularly efficient and I found it the perfect match with the V4B head. The Ashdown is a Class A/B amp and has a good tone and sounds powerful but I found like most of Ashdown gear I wanted better...

    all-tube amp for practice recommendations?

Ampeg PF50 would be my choice Ashdown LB30 second choice but also good

    Genzler Kinetix Settings

I’m still trying to learn the relationship between input gain level and the volume control. I’m ( with boost on ) running volume nearly the same or slightly higher than the gain level for a punchy tone with a touch of grit

Picks are better for electro vibe? I think yes

I prefer a pick with PBass for all rock !

    Genzler Kinetix Settings

I’ve found that the following suits my pick played PBass for rock The input set to Boost ( recommended by Jeff ) and I particularly found “ fat” an ideal setting Mids turned down to fill out the pick tone sound and master around 9 o’clock was loud enough in my rock band Using a ULV Magellan cab

Genzler Kinetix 800 NAD! Will post a review and such

The Kinetix definitely sounds superior to the MG800 or should I say different but both equally great ! For me the Kinetix suited rock better as it’s warmer sounding, the pre amp drive is more natural and it feels fuller in tone and just like a full valve amp. The EQ is more to my liking and...

    Genzler Kinetix 800 vs MG800

Hi I had the MG800 which is one of the best class D amps around. I then got the ULV212 cab. Having also owned in the past a Barefaced Supertwin I was hoping for great things. The cab is amazing quality, powerful, full sounding and warmer tone compared to the BF neutral sounding cab. Then I got...

Genzler Kinetix 800 NAD! Will post a review and such

Might have been a slippery wooden floor and being a light cab there was movement. A floor mat or rubber anti vibration pads like they put under washing machines under each foot will cure it I’m sure.
