Here is my 2003 BN-6 Spalt Maple. I got it used but if I ever ordered one, this is what I would get. It is an absolute beauty even with some age on her. She sounds incredible!

I agree that swapping on the same gig doesn't work for me with a Tobias unless it is a 5 string.

That is difficult. Its is not so much a difference between the series of bass as it is a difference between the woods that matters. I've heard a maple neck pre-Gibson signature sound identical to a maple neck pre-Gibson basic. The wenge necks are very unique and only available on the signatures.

it is definitely the tighter 17mm spacing. Still, it doesn't take took much of an adjustment over my Smith.
