Thanks again guys, I'll post the outcome for sure. In trying to find a solution to this problem on the web, I came to realize that this "humming amp" issue is a big problem amongst musos so anything I can do to help out a brother (or sister) in disstress is my pleasure.

I had the same thing. Treated it with anti imflamitory tabs for a couple of days and streaching. Careful streaching is essential. Then started playing small amounts of time every day slowly increasing intensity. Always streach and warm up before you play to avoid reocurrance of this problem...

The hum I am getting, the sound engineer could hear from the back of the hall at his desk... I suspected that the amp doctor was going to be the ultimate conclusion. Thanks gents, appreciate the response.
