I play a variety of styles on upright but mostly blues, jazz, country, and 50s rock, and I do use a bow sometimes. Actually, I don’t live far from a number of very good bass shops, but I just wanted to check with Talk Bass members first and get an idea of what’s out there.

These gut strings have been on my bass for years. The G string broke when I wasn’t home too. Given the cost of strings, I think I’ll probably just replace the one. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hey, talkbass fam! Can anybody help identify these strings? They appear to be nickel round wound medium gauge bass strings with no silk on either end. The ball end colors are gold, red, silver, and teal. Thanks in advance!
