    Too many basses?!?

I agree Spade2you, I was just responding to Bassbenj's earlier comment that I neglected to quote.

    Too many basses?!?

I personally don't think you need a stable of basses to keep people interested in you. If that's the case, perhaps they are more interested in your gear than you... and that's a problem. If that same crusty guy who plays the same crusty licks shows up with a new amp and bass, what's going to...

    Too many basses?!?

I find the more basses I have the more I want, and the less happy I am with the ones I have. How many of you out there are happy with just 1 or 2 basses, and why?

Will I need a New Set Up?

CapnSev is right, you will definitely need a setup. It's actually really easy to do yourself, just pick up a cheap bass (if you can afford it) and experiment. Sometimes I love flats on my P, but other times I really long for that roundwound crunch that I've only ever got out of a Precision....

    bass and vocals?

I learned to play and sing by starting out with songs that were really easy to play on bass... Back In The USSR, Breakup Song, etc etc. Basically just steady 8th notes. That allows you to focus on the vocal because, let's be honest, most people don't care about the bassline near as much as they...

    G&L JB-2 vs L2500

Actually.... you might want to find out which Nordstrands are in that JB2. Couple of options, could make a big difference. I installed the humbucking NJ4SV's in my jazz.

I need a Gig Rig Any advice?

Markbass! I love their tilt-back 2-10 combo (CMD102P). Find one used and add a 2-10 traveller. I'm extremely pleased with the versatility and portability of this setup....

    G&L JB-2 vs L2500

You wouldn't happen to be looking at that green JB2 on that 'other' bass forum would you?

    G&L JB-2 vs L2500

You found 2 lefty G&L's for cheap? Buy them both! Just speaking from a fellow lefty's perspective, haha. Seriously though, I just picked up a used L2000 about a month ago and love it. I'd go for the L2500 personally, but if you prefer a thin jazz neck, this isn't the bass for you. Even the 4...

    Disappointed with my rig

I gig and practice with a Markbass CMD102P... that's the 2-10 tilt back combo with the built in LMII head. It works fantastic for me; never any volume/headroom issues. I can't believe that 300 watts isn't enough for you in a practice setting, regardless of speaker size. Try tilting it...
