Thanks you, the link I found didn't say anything about watt output. You would think they would say 450, and 750 rather than higher. So I bet the b2re wasn't even 250/450

I've had this cab for almost 10 years, the same amount of time I had the b2re but the head only pushed 250 watts so it really hasn't seen this much power yet. I did add a 15" a while back but even then it only went to 450 @ 4 ohms.

Which cab do you use with this head? I just have the SVT410HE 8 ohm 500/1000 cab. So I'm really going over the RMS by 100 watts when using the head fully.

marcus is a great musician, thanks for the advice! I'll try to use the compression to maintain gain, volume, and tone. The BTB probably won't need any low or high boosts so I will definitely not use them with it. I still have to dial in the 5 preset eq

Ah ok. Thanks for the info. Yea I've had it for a week or so but only gotten to play on it loud once but even then I couldn't play it as loud as I wanted to play.

Was the first head new or used? And how hard did you play on it for that 5 minutes? My thought was that if I turn off the -15, gain and compression about 3 o'clock it seemed to be fine. I just don't understand the thresh light. If it's NT a bad light then what is the purpose? Is it just to tell...

Ok sounds good! I'll definitely tweak the sound some, to get a good ear. I just got the head, and wanted to get certain things straightened out before my 45 day return policy in case something is wrong. Though I did buy the 2 year pro coverage warranty so I think I'll be fine. Thanks again lol

I had both of the boosts on, I am not with my amp so it's hard to tweak it right now. My 5 string's Barts are very hot so I will most likely use the -15Db with it unless I just round out the gain with some compression.

Other than by ear, how to I tell the difference between power amp clipping and gain clipping?
