Lo and behold...the 'isolated' track.

Its good alright but that is definitely not a Simon Gallup isolated bass track...so whoever is playing it is doing it their own way...slightly too much chorus and not enough drive...but really close... [there are also a few ghost notes on the track that are simply not SG...]

P will always win this because there are more of them and more who have them.... For me it is always gonna be the J....neck...it could be on practically anything....but those 4mm make all the difference...

A Shim giveth....while a Router taketh away... each has their own benefit...

Shape a shim....don't use paper/plastic/etc...a wooden wedge...

Boss ME-50B has a pretty decent fretless simulator as well. It's a big hunk of a thing to carry around just for a fretless sim though...

Picked up the EBS Multi-Comp and the Aphex Bass Xciter used for €50 each....never looked back.... Oh and a Squier Jazz for free from a housemate moving back to Oz, which has been the world's most comfy practice bass with it's sleek .035's for 5 years now...

@ Qvist he needs to be TOLD that each instrument in a band should have its own frequency range and that crossing over onto somebody else's frequency makes both of you sound terrible. wedgie optional....
