    Chuck Rainey HBD!

Agreed, JW. Beato is hitting it out of the ballpark with his recent interviews. The one with Rainey is priceless!

Does anyone else here get discouraged when listening to an amazing player?

I recently saw the Dixie Dregs/Steve Morse Band not too long ago at an intimate, 800 seat venue. When the SM band started out, there was the legendary Dave LaRue, just killing it on his MM Bongo and SVT rig. I'm still picking up my jaw off the floor, 6 weeks later. what an amazing player...

    I can't believe I just bought a fender rumble

I love my Rumble 500 - no complaints, love the Vintage button - gives it a nice, low end thump.

    Best/Worst beginner basses

I absolutely love my Squire 40th anniversary Jazz - changed the gold pickguard for a tort, just my preference. I have a long time tech/luthier guy who always does a fabulous job with a true, professional set-up. For $389 new, can't beat it...jmo, of course. BTW, this bass has a matte surf...

    New string set up recommendations

I've posted this before, but these are fairly new from Dunlop. Best strings I've ever used - great tone, punch and balance. Been a long time user of Dunlop.

    Sweetwater Scam

I agree with you Basslust - I ordered a Schecter bass last year, arrived, looked great, but took it to my tech/luthier guy - he spent over an hour re-adjusting, intonating, etc. So yeah, not to sure about the 55 point inspection thing. I still like the company, never really done wrong by me.

The one's that got away....(Wish you still had)

I had one of the early 1978 MM Stingrays. you know the one - ash body, black pickguard, maple neck, 2 band EQ. Traded it for a Kramer DMZ 4000, which I didn't regret at the time - I thought the Kramer had a beefier pre-amp and overall tone. Of course, over time, I sold it......well, some 45...

    So many amps

Never played through a Bergie, but I I saw a guy in a top level Steely Dan cover band last year who played a Fodera Monarch 5 string through a Forte head and 2-12" Bergie bottom....one of the fullest, nicest, buttery sounds I've ever heard.

    Best strings for G&L L2000?

I recently posted this is another thread, but I absolutely love these newer strings from Dunlop. Best ones I've ever used. Great, even fundamentals, versatile tone.

Worst Bass Cab You Have Played Through?

Hey Grinderman, are you talking about the 136 combo? That's the bass amp I had.....just not enough power...even hooked up an Acoustic 4-12" cab....
