    Which bass would you chose?

Maaaannnn… This is tough, for sure. This won’t be helpful because I don’t know your situation. A feel like an F-Bass would be a wonderful instrument but you can go wrong with a NYC Sadowsky. Lulls are also amazing. Where are you at, man? Are you gigging? I’d be hard pressed to bring a $4500...

    Tobias Officially Back

I am big curious about these but skeptical given Gibsons reputation recently. Curious how they’ll compare to the Kingston line and I’m kinda bummed they’re on a limited production. I hesitate to be an early adopter of a new thing before they’ve been sufficiently vetted. I’m sure they’ll sell...

    I have GAS...again! But.....

I’ve owned a Few Fenders from MIM to USA Deluxe as well as a couple Lulls, Lakeland and a few other nice Fender style basses. I’ve kept my G&L L-2500 and recently got a Yamaha BB734 and am really impressed. For a $800 bass the value is very good and it plays and sounds as good as the much more...

MTD Kingston Super 5 — Neck dive

I don’t know if it would make a world of difference but maybe replace the tuners with Hipshots? The body is definitely more compact body with less upper horn extension and TBH the wide/flat neck profile might not jive with you in the more horizontal position. It forces you to play a bit...

    MTD Kingston Super 5 query . V2??

Good Doctor. I’ve appreciated your demo videos and feedback. Big agree. I’m not much of a slipper mostly alternating between fingers and pick. It allows for a very clean and aggressive tone that I was searching for. I had to move my Dingwall NG3 to free up some funds and got this as a more...

    MTD Kingston Super 5 query . V2??

Agree. I would say that a well built one piece neck doesn’t need reinforcement and sometimes they’re simply used to chance the resonance of the neck and eliminate dead spots which I don’t find to be an issue either. Again, more curious to see if anyone has any information and if there are any...

    Input on Corvette Standard Trade…

I pulled the trigger on the trade. The Warwick is super clean, great neck. Electronics work as they should. Passive so nothing flashy but that actually works well for me. Mwahhh for days on that thing. Very satisfied with how it worked out.

    Knockoff?

It obviously survived the sinking of the Titantic… Well before the precision bass was ever conceived. This an Heirloom, Sir! Honestly tho… if it works, $50. Otherwise return it to the sea.

    Input on Corvette Standard Trade…

I’m offloading some gear. One of my items is a LTD Stephen Carpenter 7 string guitar. Technically a Baritone at 27” scale. I really like it and currently have it tuned to Drop G. It plays incredibly well and looks amazing. I have an opportunity to trade it for a Warwick Corvette Standard...

    Are veneers a turnoff?

I generally agree with the preceding statement. Take a cheap body made of 5 pieces of alder slapped together and sweet ass veneer on it and make it a “premium” model. This is what I’m suspect of. Look at LowEnd Lobsters review of the sandblasted Spector model. It’s exactly that… varying pieces...

    Are veneers a turnoff?

Agree. My favorite bass is my G&L L-2500 which I made the determination that it is a quality instrument when I got my hands on it, yes. In terms of “made in China” basses they’re generally built in the same factory as Cort, Ibanez, Jackson, Schecter so what faith do I have that the quality of...

    MTD Kingston Super 5 query . V2??

Heya. I just got a MTD Kingston Super 5 in brown burst with Laurel board. It’s a good bass and pretty versatile. I sold a Dingwall NG3 and Ibanez EHB1505MS and got this as a replacement. I noticed a new run of Kingston Super 5s coming out around October designated V2. I’m having a hard time...
