I’m offloading some gear. One of my items is a LTD Stephen Carpenter 7 string guitar. Technically a Baritone at 27” scale. I really like it and currently have it tuned to Drop G. It plays incredibly well and looks amazing.
I have an opportunity to trade it for a Warwick Corvette Standard Fretless 4. Bubinga body, Ovangkol neck and MEC dynamic corrected pickups, passive otherwise. I’m primarily a bassist and don’t’ have a fretless. The retail value of the Corvette is well over the retail value of the LTD although the Corvette seems more common when searching Reverb and whatnot.
What would you recommend? Straight trade? Keep looking for a similar bass and pay cash? Trade and , if I don’t like it, potentially sell the Warwick for more than I could get for the LTD? The LTD has been sitting on Reverb for $950 for a while now. It sounds great and looks amazing but I have a fluence loaded Sterling Sabre 6 and PRS SE in 27.7”scale that kind of does everything this will with a more familiar feel. I do record and play guitar and bass. Like I said, no fretless and kind of have my bases covered in the guitar realm. Thoughts?
