Yep. Electronics are easy. I'd go $50 for pickups used. Maybe used SD's or AmStd Fender P-bass pickups if I can find them. The tuners are cheapo as is the bridge on this bass. Even I can tell. What are good "upgrades on a budget" replacements for tuners and bridge?
