    Recording technique?

Was asked today to lay down some lines for a guy recording a cd about local church bands... It has been 10 years since I have even stepped into a studio. Anybody have any help full tips?

Making basslines within a readonable amount of time

I use the chord chart with the lyrics on it. Listen to it then try to hum and sing a line while looking at the chart. Then I picture the fretboard in my head and work the notes out. Might be weird but it works for me.

This full stack was bought at a local shop about 10 years ago. I've never seen another one and can't find much info on it. Anyone else familiar with SHS?

    Original Lines

That's an idea. So if a song is the key of G. No matter where I play as long as I'm staying in the key of G and using the F# then all will sound good?

    Original Lines

I'm stuck. For the life of me I can't seem to create an original bass line to fit a song. I have the chord charts. I know about chords and using 1 3 5 if it's major. Any advice?

    Where to start?

Thanks for the answers fellas. Yea I know I III V triads and to flat the III to get a minor and a that. Guess I really just need to memorize the fretboard. After that I'm hoping that everything will go a lot smoothly. Then I'm going to scales after I can recite the triads from memory. Well see...
