I use a boss odb-3 in conjunction with a boss sub-octave oc-3... makes my sound massive and dirty which is perfect for me.. I switch between both on, to just distortion to clean depending on what part of what song but as we are a heavy alt rock/metal three piece it does a great job of thickening...
