Amp crackling, don't think it's the jacks

I'll give that a try. if that doesn't work I'll probably just take it in to guitar center or richmond music and have them take a look at it.

Amp crackling, don't think it's the jacks

The warranty is still good for a few more months I think. I just had tried everything and I think it's gotta be the head. I got it used for around 200 bucks at guitar center. most people tell me they used to go for about 700 or so. So I'm wondering if they sold me a head that needs repair.

Amp crackling, don't think it's the jacks

Just got a new amp cabinet, bass, and used head. After a while I started getting a crackling sound and the bass sound would just cut off intermitantly. I've tried different basses and gotten the same result, tried 4 or 5 different cables, replaced the speaker cable, changed batteries in the...

Upgrading amps and need some advice

My budget actually just shrank again because I had to fill up with gas, so I'm probably going to be looking at either the Acoustic B200H or the Behringer head that I'm somewhat skeptical about.

Upgrading amps and need some advice

I finally got going with a band, but my gear isn't quite cutting it anymore. Both of our guitarists play through half stacks and drown out my tiny fender bassman 60watt. So I'm looking at either buying a GK Backline600 Head or an Acoustic B200H Head. I plan on purchasing a GK Goldine 8X10 cab...

    Can't Get Slap&Pop

I see screws for each saddle on the tail to adjust intonation (I have to tighten them a lot because I get a rattling noise there sometimes). As for the ones that adjust the high I don't see them. the only other screws I see hold the bridge to the body.

    Can't Get Slap&Pop

You mean like lowering the saddle? I think I have to take the saddle off to adjust it.

    Can't Get Slap&Pop

the bass didn't come with strap locks. It just came with pegs my strap slides over, but the strap comes off all the time.

    Can't Get Slap&Pop

because if I have to get a new bass, and the bass comes with them, it's a waste of money. If I don't need a new bass, I'll buy new ones.

    Can't Get Slap&Pop

Okay, I've been trying to get a slap and pop sound out of my Squier P-Bass. I know it's not my technique because I've tried it on other basses and it sounded fine (granted I still suck at playing slap&pop). I've asked a number of bassists. Some tell me it's because my Squier just can't do that...

buying a bass... what to look at?

get something versatile. My Squier is all good and all, but it can't do any slap and pop. So I'm trying to learn it but it's a bit hard on a bass that can't do it. Best thing I can recommend if find a bunch of basses you like, try em all out. Do everything to them. Use a pick, finger pluck...

    New player...buy a 5 string?

I think it's better to learn on a 4 string. It really does seem to be the most common from what I can tell. The only reason I'm thinking about a 5 string is so I don't have to constantly tune my 4 string down to drop C all the time.

    Favorite Tuning?

Drop C and tuned down a whole step. and tuned down 1/2 step

    Your first bass

Mine was my old man's home made one. It was alright, kinda old. Then I got a Squier P-Bass for Christmas. Still using it but looking to upgrade soon.

If you have a Squier do you have a Fender?

I only have a basic Squier P-Bass. I want a new one because I can't do slap and pop on it. It's kinda beat up now.
