I bought one of these from Ibanez. Its a SRMD SR Mezzo 5-string. Only $379 and you get quite a lot for your money with this one. Here's a pic:

That is the first center-pocket G&G case I have ever seen for a Fender bass guitar. Very nice! I like everything about that special order guitar!

Love the purple tolex. I have a Fender Custom Vibrasonic Amp 1X15 combo with a matching 1X15 cab done in purple tolex. You can see it to the left of the VOX New Guardsman in this picture.

While the fret board is not maple or rosewood, the Pau Ferro on the Fender Vintera 60s Jazz Bass looks awfully good with the Firemist Gold finish, and the vintage tinted neck. Sweetwater and others are offering this bass for under $1000. This would be my recommendation!

I recently picked up an Ibanez SRMD205 Mezzo 5-string bass guitar. It has a 32" medium scale. The factory specs on the Ibanez website for this guitar specify that it is equipped with DAddario EXL165 + .130 medium strings (gauges .045/.065/.085/.105/.130). I could not find that exact string set...

on Amazon right now, sold by fender.com. $824.99! That's $275 off the MSRP of $1099. Only in Sea Foam Green, but that's a great color! Don't know how long this price will hold so if you are in the market, the time to buy is now...

Because a USA Fender of the same specs would cost over FOUR times what this Squier costs. And the Fender is nowhere near FOUR times the guitar that the Squier CVs are.

Don't mess with the Lull. You'll regret it. It isn't that hard to find a fantastic fretless bass. Keep looking, and open you wallet if you have to.
