Krylon has a couple of orange colors that will get you close to Capri. I've used the Fusion line of products with great success.

I snagged two cans of this and a can of satin poly at the Home Depot. May be a tad darker than Capri. Will do a test piece in a few while I'm waiting on some filler to dry. The wood on this body is SOFT.

that richter piece worked really well in my J-bass. i'd still be using that configuration if i hadn't swapped to active with that ax. hopefully, it works for you, too, @scubajosh77. again, good luck!

It’s too late now, but for future reference, you don’t really need to strip the body for a solid color refin. It’s so much work, especially with modern instruments with thick poly finishes.

When I do mine, I scuff sand the original finish, then spray primer/paint/clear. I always get a good result with that.

I think it's Fender's fault for incorrectly labelling the controls. Instead of V, V, T, it should be MBN, MBB, MT. Those who need a translation into noobie: Master Blend Neck, Master Blend Bridge, Master Tone. Let them figure out who the real boss is. All of those masters and not enough servants. Just twirl the knobs around until it sounds good.

Ah ok. I noticed some of the wood grain in the pics, so was just curious.

I refinished a body earlier this year with Krylon paint/primer in one, and it was sanded down to grain before I started. After a can and a half of paint, the grain was still showing, but the client was actually happy with the semi-transparent look. I'm not sure how much color I would have had to use to completely cover it.
