So I finished color yesterday but the surface has several rough spots. Left it to dry overnight. Plan to wet sand today and hopefully start clear.

For future reference, you'll need to use a sanding sealer then primer if you take the original finish down to bare wood. Otherwise you'll still be able to see grain (unless you want to see grain).

Out of curiosity:
By "VVT", do you really mean "Volume - Volume - Tone", or do you mean "Volume - Volume - Blend"? (The Invalid Link Removed says "Master Tone".)
To me, the answer matters. Some of my Harley Benton gear (two basses and a resonator guitar) features "VVB", and I'm considering yet another guitar for this very feature.

I really prefer VVT over VBT.
Why?
Well when I dime just the Volume of VVT both are at 10. I can set both at 9, 8, 7, 6, etc. I can set them independently anyway I want. Including 0.

With VBT I can’t nor anyone else can do that.

I can dime Volume on VBT and only get 100% neck pup and 0% bridge pup or 90% np and 10% bp or 80% np and 20% bp or 70% np and 30% bp or 60% np and 40% bp or 50% np and 50% bp and then the reverse the other way.

The detent of blend is 50% of both at 10 and not 100% of both at 10

VVT both V’s dimed is not the same as VBT with V dimed and B at detent.

VVT is for me much more versatile than VBT can ever be.

Another preference I like even more with a 3-way switch is Master Volume/VVT.
You see this on a few Hollow Body and Semi/Hollow Body Basses.

There are basses with Master Volume VVT with a 3-way switch. Think Gretsch hollow & semi/hollow and a few others that make similar type basses.
