Squier Jaguar Short Scale Club Part 3

New 30" seems neat, but the non-typical bridge and pickups make it a bit trickier to mod. Invalid Link Removed

Squier Jaguar Short Scale Club Part 3

Like others have said, putting lighter tuners and heavier bridges helps shift the focal point. If you don't mind extra weight, you can get some Wheel Weights from your local auto part store. They have adhesive backs and you can stick them in the control cavity to add more weight towards the body.

The Official Medium Scale Bass Club

I have a 32" Squier Jag H bass and it fits in the same short scale Fender gig bag as my 30" Squier Short Scale Jag. It's snug, but it fits.

    EMG Club!

Any advice on where to start for setting the pickup height for the MMHZ, the passive ceramic Music Man sized humbucker. EMG's website recommends 3mm in their FAQ, but I figure that's for their active pickups, which can be much closer to the strings than passives.

The Official Medium Scale Bass Club

I replaced the stock pickup in the Jag H with an EMG MMHZ. Only had to use the dremel to lengthen the control cavity a tad at the top. Also had to dig around the spare parts for some solid shaft knobs for the EMG pots. Shielded the cavity with copper tape while it was gutted. Gave it a proper...

The Official Medium Scale Bass Club

So if anyone wants a pickguard for the Jaguar H Precision Guitar | Reverb can cut them, there’s a few dozen of colors/patterns/materials available. Their reviews looked a little iffy at first, but I think there was some communication issues that have seemed to be resolved.

I got one of the metallic orange ones from sweetwater this week. I was looking at replacing the pickup with one of the EMG MMHZ passive ones. Anyone know if the pots fit? These are the dimensions EMG sent me.

Where'd you get your pickguard cut? I'd like to get a black pearloid one for my metallic orange Jag H but the guy on Reverb that has a listing for them has some questionable reviews to put it nicely.

How much do you mod your basses

I have one of those short scale squier jag that I put a Hipshot KickAss bridge, Dimarzio Area pups, Hipshot ultra lite tuners and the xtender tuner in. I bought the bass for $300 and spent twice as much on parts. My friend was floored “why not just buy a more expensive bass?” Well, maybe if...

    Is Ampeg done for?

If Ampeg is done for than Orange should have gone under years ago. Obviously both are still around because they’re solid tone and if it ain’t broke, why fix it? The only brand I’ve seen that’s anywhere as popular with Ampeg for rock music would be Darkglass and that’s mostly with the newer...

    Darkglass alpha omega ultra

I actually prefer the sound and I guess dirt of the B7K over the AO's, as I like that clanky midrange(?) it has, I was just considering using the AOU since it has more EQ tweakability. Yeah, I had been waiting for the AO Ultra v2's w/ AUX in for about a month. It seems the AO's were the last of...

    Darkglass alpha omega ultra

So I'm mostly a guitarist, but I have a GK MB210 combo w/ another 2x10 passive extension cab and I've been looking to get a Darkglass pedal but I can't decide between the AO and the microtubes so what I've decided I'm going to do is get an ultra version of one and a dirt pedal of the other, so...

Squier Jaguar Short Scale Club Part 3

For roundwounds, You're gonna want at least a 105 for the low E (D), though a 110 or even 115 would be better and not as floppy. Flatwounds are a bit stiffer.

It seems the new Vintage Modified Jag basses are 32" with dual concentric pots.
