i'm almost ready to pull the trigger for a silenX. Which is the most usual way to plug the fan? Did you plug it the way the original fan was, using the capacitors (but not running at full speed), did you all removed the capacitors, or left them but didn't use them.

What can be heard with mine seems to be the air flow, rather than a mechanical noise from the fan, since when I put my hand against the case, the noise doen't bother me anymore. Will a replacement of the fan solve the problem?

As it has been said above, it's not a plug and play amp if you consider the parametric control of the mids, and the way the gain and drive interact. It is also rather on the vintage side imho (you cannot get pristine highs to dig a modern sound). And I thought that it lacked something on the low...

Great amp! Really versatile, powerfull , the EQ works fine. I liked the harmonic content the tubes give. I only wished it had the tremendous low end of the 700 rbII. If you almost cut the mids, you can really get a vintage sound. Even if the small heads can get load, I don't feel the same...

If you want an upgrade of the mb 200, go for the mb 500 or the 800. They are the keepers of the gallien spirit, in a small box. The fusion series are quite different, less growl, rounder imho, with some tube warmth. I loved the genz with its pillowy low end, its thickness and warmth. It sounded...

The rb series' EQ is much more precise. The same for the filters IMO. The rb series sound better with more richness in the low end.

I play through a chillbass 100, french stuff, handmade, based on the hiwatt dr 103. Love it!

It works well with the neo 212. The cab gives a less vintage flavour to the sound. .
