Neck too straight

Huh... never heard this is also an option. :) I did thought about shimming the neck to get an angle between the body and raise the string, but all solved with dual action rod. Now, this thinny-tiny original bridge definitely is the weakest spot on the instrument and would love to replace it, but...

    Neck too straight

It seemed hard to find specific answer regarding the model on Yamaha club, so I took the wrench and yes... turns out IT IS dual action rod! Haven't had it on any bass before, so please don't mind me asking, and many thanks for helping!

    Neck too straight

Very unlikely... Yamaha BB425. Nut gets so loose i expect it to come off the rod.

    Neck too straight

Anybody experienced problem with neck being too stiff and straight? If I load it with 45-130 it gets perfect with truss rod completely loose and raised saddles . But any lighter set and you can't raise the strings off the frets. Neck is laminated, 5 pieces maple/mahogany, and besides being too...

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

Definitely! Not a night and day difference, but then it doesn't have to be. I'd say it has shifted the spectre one step toward highs and tamed the low end, which was exactly what I wished for. It was too dark sounding, now it's pure classic.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

that body shape always seemed odd to me, but once I've tried, it feels custom tailored and well designed.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

And yes... when rolled off completely it now gets that mid bump, typical for standard P and J basses

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

Count me in... Got this thing in the exchange and it turned out to be a lot more then I have expected. Everything feel so nice, solid and comfy, including real rosewood neck, which became true premium feature these days. I did one thing to make it "mine" and I can't recommend it enough -...

Returning to Bass After a Break – What's Changed?

It's funny how OP started with not being around for "few years" and most of us start changes from past 20 and some years... like "all the instruments are now being 'lectric and we ain't loading no horse carriage anymore when going to a gig"

Actual wattage (RMS) of Bugera Veyron t

Only problem with Bugera is that huge credibility issue. The way they are selling their products is unacceptably wrong, which is shame, because amps are great for their true specs and cost. And I don't know which came first, but it's funny how they merged with TC who also became infamous for...

Once more on Hartke LH500 limits...

now that is excellent question... what is behind "volume" on lh500? input gain or master output? i've read some assumptions on both, but havent saw anything confirmed

Once more on Hartke LH500 limits...

As a conclusion, I would like to share some info from

BassesByLeo
Est. 2009 • View topic - My L2500 Tribute distorted sound. which helped a lot. Even with other amp which has gain control.

Once more on Hartke LH500 limits...

Have you used passive or active input? I'm constantly using active since my G&L is overdriving most preamps even with preamp switched off. And now I'm think this might be the cause of different experiences with volume control. I'll definitely need to try it with good ol' passive fender...

Once more on Hartke LH500 limits...

I just did the test with all 3 tubes I got. One of them is Sovtek which came originally with the amp. It acts the same way as JJ. Best headroom seems to be with old Ei Yugoslavia, but it is still sounds oversaturated with master volume around 7.

Body finish: Returning from tinted back to natural?

Thanks for the advices. It actually sounds doable! Here is another picture that might confirm your assumptions...
