    BDI21- Your Settings and Findings

I bought one a few weeks back & it has really likened up the tone on my old Peavey Max 115. I just tape it to the top of my combo & run it for the whole gig via the adapter I bought separately. It may be cheap but for me it's a tone beast. Worth every penny. Get one. You won't be disappointed.

Did my ears deceive me ?

Hi Marko, The mix inside the marquee for our trio was a little muddy but I could hear all the instruments & the fold-back was pretty good for vocals. I could hear the little Rumble just fine ( I didn't change the other guys settings to be polite ) but I used my bass which is a P Bass copy with...

Did my ears deceive me ?

It may have been too good to be true & my eyes may have been the problem not my ears. To be fair my eyesight is not what it was & when I saw the set up I hadn't even had a beer so I can't blame that. I guess I may have missed a DI lead somewhere in the ( near ) dark. Have a great day everyone.

Did my ears deceive me ?

Hi Everyone. Recently our Classic Rock trio played under a marquee at a camping ground as guest band using another bands gear. The bass player had a Rumble 40 & in the lineup of the main band were two guitarists, keys, drums, percussion & multi vocalists. I know Fender make a good amp but I...

    Thinking about quitting!

As a long term working semi professional musician I can understand the frustrations that build up with our craft. I took a year out some time back just to be with family when the pressures of a full time day job & two nights playing every weekend simply got too much. These days I am a more...

What do you consider an “expensive” bass?

Fascinating thread. I play most weekends in a classic rock trio & currently use a P bass copy that was built for me by a close friend who is somewhat of an electronic genius. This thing has monster tone & is the lightest & most powerful bass I have owned so far. It has met every sonic challenge...

You get one song to listen to for the rest of your life. What is it?

Hi All. Have to be Rikki Don't Lose That Number by Steely Dan. A slice of heaven. Have a great day everyone.

    Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

Hi 68-Tele Bass. Thanks for your reply & also everyone else for their input. Our trio plays a wide variety of material but predominantly 50's, 60's & 70's. Drums, bass & guitar, we all sing. I have a Peavey Max 115 & have a veteran ( like me ) Hohner " The Jack " headless bass which is active...

Thanks for the great input. It is brilliant to be able to tap into everyones collective knowledge from the other side of the world. Thanks again.

    Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

Hey all. Fascinated by this discussion. I was under the impression that you usually need roughly four times the wattage of your guitarists amp ( he has a 50 watt Mesa ) to give enough headroom to produce a clear low end signal. Currently I am using a Peavey Max 115 which gives 200 watts into the...

    Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

Hey all. I have been following this thread with much interest as these combos are in the odd music shop here in NZ now. Looking forward to giving one a try asap. I really like the idea of the one with the 15 in it but just wonder if it is a little underpowered. Still you can't pass judgement on...

Ampeg Rocket Bass 500 watt combo - thoughts ?

Hey Talk Bass Community. Greetings from the NZ Winter. I would be very interested to hear what you all think of these combos which are in the shops here now. There appears to be a lot of internet love for them but there is nothing like some first hand experience. Pandemic aside things are great...
