I use a vintage Nobels ODR-B pedal as a mild overdrive for electric guitar. It preserves the full original tonal range while providing a bit of break-up (like a Timmy, I am told).

A hollow thin body Teisco Del Ray EB-200, MIJ circa 1972, two single coil pick-ups, in red burst with flat wounds. It played well, recorded great. Looked kinda like a Gibson ES. I paid $40 for it from my best friend, whose dad was a manufacturer’s rep for Teisco. The rest is history.
