i really like the tone unplugged, when i still had my little fender rumble 15W i would often play unplugged because the tone was far superior. Its a lot better now that i have a decent Hartke rig, but it still sounds better unplugged. I hope that new pickups bring me closer to that tone.

I replaced the tube and there is still no output :( a few people with HA3500s are getting burnt out resistors and such, might be the cause? wonder how much repair shops charge for these kinds of jobs...

Thanks! i was surprised that it was in almost new condition (the guy said it was 2 years old and had seen gigging) apart from the missing "HyDrive" badge. :) And yeah i like boosting the mids in the EQ when i not running it flat, that aluminium sure helps punch the mids! :bassist:

after googling the life expectancy of tubes, it seems very probable that the tube has had a long full life and died. So ill get a replacement tube as its only $30 for a decent one. I remember the tube preamp sounding incredibly muddy anyway so i might as well even if its not dead. Thanks
