My pinky did the same thing when I first started, but it corrected itself as all of the fingers got stronger. I think the pinky curls because the other fingers of the hand are weak, and it's trying to compensate. I'm guessing it will just go away with practice.

Not that I have a lot of experience with a lot of basses, but to me it feels like any 4 string p bass, weight wise. A little heavier in the neck, maybe. The body wasn't particularly heavy, by itself. Certainly not heavy enough to be a concern, but I am a pretty big guy, so I don't think about...

OK, so I just finished rebuilding a Squier P Bass my friend gave me because it had a warped neck, and I was broke. It was playable, barely, and so to me it was better than nothing. Then, I decided to see if I could fix it... Here's the list of changes... I'm sorry now I didn't take pictures...

Check the paperwork that came with yor electronics. Some don't require the ground wire. I recently upgraded to EMGs, and they don't require a bridge ground.

No I like the basic tone of the pickups, it really does sound great, it's just the passive tone pot that doesn't seem to have any effect. My setup is vol/tone/vol. I don't have the stacked control.

Thanks in advance for the help. I recently installed EMG pickups (35P & PJ), in a standard PJ configuration. All wiring as indicated and included with the pickups. Wired with 18V. Problem is, the tone knob makes very little difference in the sound. There is a miniscule rolloff in treble...
