I'd bring a sansamp. Easy to make any amp sound good if you end up using a backline or have to borrow gear, and has a di.

SVT-2pro through two 8x10's. My guitar player was running a V4 through two Sunn 412LH bass cabs. BRUTAL!

It's supply and demand. People are into light-weight portable rigs. The 610 sounds almost like an 810 but is way easier to move. That's worth a lot in today's market.

I always put mine in the van on its side to avoid extra wear and on the speakers from all the bouncing while driving. Also, I've found that pulling it instead of pushing it can be a lot more forgiving if you hit a bump/crack in the ground.

As others have pointed out... an SVT-4 is NOT an SVT. It is a totally different amp. No Power Tubes=No SVT.

Oh yeah, you are going to want standard depth as well, not shallow.

Keep in mind SVT 2's get pretty hot. You might want a couple extra spaces for breathing room.

I would never put a beer bottle on any amp I wasn't expecting it to spill on. So yeah, one covered in rat fur would be a good spot for a beer ;)

I haven't tried a lot of different brands, and I'm not very good at describing tones, but I just put JJ KT88s from Eurotubes in my SVT2Pro and love it. It sounds huge, gnarly, and angry.

I have the svt II pro and svt vr, and the 2pro definitely has that "mojo", but like you were saying, you do need to crank the master volume to get it. Basically it wants to be played loud and won't sound good until you turn it up. The thing I really do like better about the 2 pro is the Drive...

+1 I like the SVT-II (pro or not) better than the SVT-CL, Sunn/Fender 300t, or Mesa 400+.
